Once again, I’ve fallen short of what I wanted to do with this newsletter. Between finishing a screenplay and looking for a new job I haven’t had the energy to write here. I recently finished watching all four seasons of Nancy Drew and wanted to talk about it and this is the place to do that. Also, it fits in with the list of shows I wrote out years ago, composed of shows that had an apocalyptic and supernatural element.
I will write more about the random and prominent movies and shows I’ve watched or will watch. Also, I’ll publish original micro-fiction, I have many stories that fit into the original theme of this newsletter, and I want to share those. Like the ones on my podcast.
Back to Nancy Drew. I didn’t read the books as a child. What I knew of the character, was that she was a young girl who solved mysteries. And a few years ago CBS was going to make a series starring Sarah Shahi as a grown-up Nancy. That version of the show fell through and I had no idea that a different version of the show was picked up by the CW. One day I scrolled through the Max app and saw a still for the show and thought, sure why not? Cut to me binging all four seasons over the course of two and a half weeks. If you like shows with supernatural elements and conventionally attractive young adults, this show is for you. Also, Scott Wolf (the original Bae, IYKYK) plays Nancy’s dad! Have we gotten this old? The fourth season was its last, watch it before they take it away forever.

The Wheel of Time - Prime Video, season 2 started weeks ago, but I haven’t been up for this brand of fantasy just yet. Feels like a winter watch
Rap Shit - HBO - So ready for season 2!
This is pretty much it. I tried to watch that naked dating show, but it was not for me. There aren’t a lot of new shows, due to the WGA strike which thankfully ended and I’m hoping the SAG strike ends soon. We need new shows and for Abbott Elementary to come back.
